Who We Are

AfricaWise is Portia and Cecile, but all of our suppliers and partners are key players to the succes of your trip. We have an extensive network of top suppliers and very special relationships with them that were built over the years.

Portia, a certified coach, works with individual clients, facilitates group sessions, workshops, and is an inspiring speaker.

Portia’s career includes a 10-year background in the corporate oil and gas industry in a range of functions from accounting, internal auditing, communications and sales and marketing support.

Having conquered the hardships of growing in the township of Gugulethu, to completing a solid education background, building a successful corporate career and then letting it all go to follow her purpose; she has personal experience with moving through many of life’s difficult transitions much like her clients.

She brings a vibrant and authentic South African sense of hospitality, a unique depth of character, a sense of humor as well as a passion and professionalism in all things she undertakes, making her your perfect host

Founding Director

French born but African at heart, Cecile has been living in South Africa for over 20 years and has more than 15 years of experience in the travel industry. Throughout her life she’s been in contact with people from very various backgrounds which has broadened her mind and also forced into a realization that business ethics, sustainability , fairness and equality have to be first and foremost at all times. This is the key part of her involvement at Africa Wise. Being an artist, by passion, she will bring her creativity to crafting your itineraries but also brings an uncompromising authenticity in all aspects of her endeavors.
